The Brisbane Metro Subway System is likely to be the largest infrastructure project to impact the South Bank precinct in coming years.

Some of the key elements of the system include replacement of buses at the Cultural Centre bus interchange (excl. New Farm-West End services) with high-frequency metro services and removal of private vehicles off Victoria Bridge.

Council is currently working on the business case, with plans to have this finalised by May 2017. Design will be undertaken from 2017 to 2018. Subject to additional funding being obtained from State and Federal Governments, the system should be operational in 2022.

• If in danger – make a loud noise. It could be ‘help’, ‘fire’ or a scream
• Men are more likely to get assaulted than women
• Avoid walking alone
• Text a friend or family your movement if on your own
