About Us
The Incorporated Association was established in 1999 in response to the precinct business leaders recognising the need for a common 'voice'.
Since then, Business South Bank has tackled many issues on behalf of the precinct including joint marketing initiatives; establishing a 'sustainability challenge', commenting on parking, traffic, safety and infrastructure projects such as North Bank, Hale Street Bridge, Smart Cities, Kurilpa Structure Plan, amoungst others.
Our constituency includes commercial and retail businesses, hotels, restaurants, cultural, educational and community facilities. For a full list of members please visit the directory.
Business South Bank has a corporate membership which employs about 6000 people, more that the population of Goondiwindi.
We have three fundamental objectives:
- To be the 'voice' of the South Bank precinct: engage in and lobby on important issues affecting the precinct.
- Connect members through a broad calendar of events: including networking functions, workshops, CEO lunches and forums
- Provide communication outlets: regular newsletters, e-news' and facilitate face-to-face meetings.
Business South Bank has a board of 11 directors that oversee the strategic direction of the Association, and is managed by a professonal secretariat comprising of an Executive Officer and support staff.
Board of Directors
Each year at the Annual General Meeting, a Board of Directors is elected to guide the Association activities and finances. (see Articles of Association in 'Resource' pages).
